The Modern Solution for Missing or Unsavable Teeth

Our primary goal is to save your natural teeth whenever possible. But, when a tooth or teeth are beyond saving or are already missing, dental implants provide the ideal replacement solution. Dental implants are the most lifelike option for teeth replacement in every aspect, including feel, function and aesthetics.

At Central Georgia Periodontics & Dental Implants, our doctors have helped thousands of patients enjoy the benefits that dental implants provide, including being able to chew and smile with confidence.

What Is a Dental Implant?

A dental implant is an artificial tooth root. It is placed into the jawbone, and a dental crown, bridge or denture is firmly attached.

High-Tech Planning and Precision Surgery

Our doctors use cutting-edge 3D technology to meticulously plan for your implant placement and ensure it will be accurate, efficient and comfortable. A 3D dental CT scan provides our doctors with highly detailed, 360-degree imagery of your entire mouth and jaw area for effective treatment planning. The implant placement is then simulated in advance of the actual procedure using special 3D implant planning software.

Our state-of-the-art 3D CT scanner allows the doctors to see your entire oral anatomy in a 360-degree view.

When needed for extremely precise control and accuracy, the doctors use physical surgical guides or the X-Guide guided surgery system. The X-Guide provides real-time 3D views of the implant during surgery and indicates for the doctors the precise surgical path, like a road map. This makes your implant placement a faster and more comfortable experience.

Why Place an Implant Immediately After a Tooth Extraction?

If you need a tooth or teeth extracted, our doctors provide gentle, expert extractions and often recommend immediate placement of a dental implant afterward. By receiving an implant in the same visit as the extraction, you save time and money by not having to return on another day to undergo another surgical procedure. Placement of an implant also puts an immediate halt to the bone loss process that begins once a tooth is removed.

Immediate Loading of Implants in the Aesthetic Zone

When you receive implants to replace a tooth or teeth in the “aesthetic zone” at the front of your mouth (the area that is visible when you smile), our doctors can place immediate temporary teeth so that you don’t have to leave our office with a gap in your smile. This can be a temporary bridge or crown, depending on the situation, that you will wear while the implant site heals. Once the implant has fully integrated with your jawbone, our doctors will place your final teeth onto the implants.
